Benefits of Joining

Since its launch in 1998 the UK Federation of Primary Care Research Organisations has primarily acted as a ‘network of networks’ to tackle issues related to primary care research and development affecting its members. Now in 2008 the Federation has acknowledged both its growth and ability to bring together different research networks enabling them to share strategies and explore opportunities within research. It is with this in mind that membership will now be free to those wanting to join allowing more networks and emerging primary care research organisations to benefit from our varied range of experience but also so we may all benefit from theirs.

There are now over 40 member organisations and the membership extends outside of the UK networks to include RDSUs, PCTs, univeristies and other primary care research organisations. The membership is vibrant and member organisations differ considerably in terms of size, geographical coverage, history, structure and so on.  Despite this the Federation continues to act as a ‘collective voice’ for primary care research organisations. Joining the Federation strengthens individual organisations’ positions and increases our ability to work productively together.
